A final thought --
I had never given up on science, or on inquiry. It was just a certain perspective on that approach that I had - deservedly - lost faith in. But we should all be able to see that there is a future for science -- for a real science that is constantly questioning, constantly refining, constantly accepting the convoluted passages of mankind's destiny.
And now that destiny seems one step closer to fruition. The coming weeks are going to be a time of change, and, I hope, a time of revolution.
And it all starts with a thought. Just one thought. But it's that tiny spark that ensures us things will work out. Of course, that doesn't preclude the fact that there's a lot of work still to be done.
My organization once proudly declared that We are the Future. And we are. But there is new hope that this can be a future of partnership and collaboration, rather than antagonism and exploitation. That's a future worth looking forward to.
